The Evergreen Pelvic Health Center features a comprehensive approach to the assessment and diagnostic evaluation of women with all pelvic floor conditions. The Center includes a multidisciplinary team of urogynecologists, urologists, a specialized nurse practitioner, colorectal surgeons, radiologists and physical therapists all working together to offer women a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan.
Diagnosis
Patients are first seen by our specialized Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), who carefully reviews all the relevant signs and symptoms, performs an advanced pelvic floor evaluation and then initiates further testing and treatment based on the findings.
At this initial visit, all women are directly involved in thorough discussions of their pelvic floor disorders, provided with additional educational resources and given treatment options. Women with complex disorders involving many organs are evaluated by our multidisciplinary team as needed.
Medical diagnostic components include:
- Urodynamic testing
- Anorectal Mammometry
- Cystoscopy
- Pudendal Nerve and Motor Latency testing
- Dynamic Pelvic MRI
Medical Treatment Options
Lifestyle changes, such as drinking less caffeine or alcohol, may be advised. Gradually training the body to wait longer between urination times may be all that is needed. Other women may be helped with medication or physical therapy and biofeedback.
A pessary, a small rubber-like ring that can support prolapsed organs or the bladder to prevent urine leakage, may be the perfect solution. The full range of conservative, nonsurgical treatment options is available to all women at the Center.
For women requiring or desiring surgery, the Center has a full range of pelvic floor surgical specialists who work together to provide the patient with the best surgical options.
