A hospital stay can be traumatic for a child and his parents, especially when it involves an overnight stay away from home. That’s why Evergreen Hospital Medical Center has taken extra steps to ensure that our pediatric unit is as comfortable and familiar as possible for our patients and their family members.
The spacious rooms, hallways and public areas combine with soothing colors and artwork to create an atmosphere that’s more like home than a hospital.
Our private pediatric rooms feature a private bathroom and a comfortable day bed, so parents can stay 24 hours a day with their child. We provide a refrigerator for storing snacks, a TV and DVD player, and ample storage space for everyone’s things. Brothers, sisters, relatives and friends are welcome to visit. The pediatric unit also features lounge areas and a kitchen, where families can prepare snacks and light meals.

To provide diversion for our patients, we have designed and stocked a playroom just for them. The playroom features books, toys, games, movies and an area for active play. It was donated by the 1998 Seattle Seahawks offensive line, who raised the more than $40,000 to build the room.
