Evergreen’s Fetal Therapy program is dedicated to the diagnosis and management of complicated fetal problems requiring in-utero intervention (surgical treatment while still in the womb). Evergreen Hospital Medical Center is one of only 10 centers in the United States currently able to provide fetoscopic laser photocoagulation for Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). In addition, we offer a number of other in-utero treatments including fetal blood transfusions, shunt placements, selective cord coagulation and treatment for Twin Reversed Arterial Perfusion syndrome (TRAP syndrome).
Dr. Martin Walker trained in fetoscopic laser photocoagulation at King’s College Hospital in London and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He is one of only a handful of perinatologists, and the only one in the Pacific Northwest, to offer fetoscopic laser photocoagulation.
