Evergreen’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine Program specializes in diagnosing and treating pregnancy complications – care that now includes higher-resolution ultrasound and safer, less-invasive prenatal testing.

Evergreen is also one of the few hospitals in the United States that performs fetoscopic laser photocoagulation for treatment of Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome.

If your pregnancy falls into one of the high-risk categories, your care provider may refer you to the Maternal-Fetal Medicine perinatologists for help managing your pregnancy. Most often, Maternal-Fetal Medicine works in concert with you and your care provider, providing prenatal consultations, ultrasound examinations, genetic counseling, antepartum fetal surveillance and assistance in management of problems such as diabetes, preterm labor, hypertension and multiple gestation.

In particularly complicated pregnancies or when very close pregnancy supervision is required, Maternal-Fetal Medicine can provide complete obstetrical care.
