More than 700 guest raised over one million dollars to support the expansion of cancer care at Evergreen Healthcare.
The annual black-tie gala was held Saturday, March 8 in Redmond’s Marymoor Park.
Proceeds from this year’s Gala will be used to fund a major expansion of Evergreen’s cancer program to meet the growing number of cancer patients in the local community. Evergreen’s cancer services will be consolidated into one comprehensive cancer center. The center will bring greater access and capacity for cancer treatment on the eastside and new technology to mammography, chemotherapy and radiation services.
A highlight of the evening was funding a new $400,000 mobile mammography unit. Guests contributions of $200,000 were matched by Evergreen Healthcare Board of Commissioners president Al DeYoung and his wife, Donna.
A group of Evergreen physicians added to the evening by treating guests to their musical talents. The band "Initial Incision" featured Evergreen’s President of Medical Staff Dr. Kelly Clinch, neurosurgeon Dr. Ali Naini, medical director of the Evergreen Surgical Center Dr. Jeff Tomlin, and urologist Dr. Andrew Deck.
The gala is hosted by the Evergreen Healthcare Foundation, a tax exempt non-profit organization dedicated to raising financial support for Evergreen Healthcare. The Foundation works with individuals, other foundations and corporations to expand healthcare on the Eastside.
