Media Contacts
Our relationship with the media is based on mutual respect and the assurance that the privacy and confidentiality of our patients are given highest priority.
Evergreen’s Media Relations Coordinator, Janette Cline, should be your first point of contact for any questions or for any interviews, videotape sessions or photography requests.

Media Requests for Interviews or Photographs
Keep in mind that any media inquiries to Evergreen physicians, departments or employees are to be made through Evergreen’s Media Relations Coordinator.
Members of the media interested in conducting interviews or taking photographs of staff, patients or patients’ families must request permission from Evergreen’s media relations staff. This includes visits to Evergreen for live stand-ups and other external shots on the campus.
Written consent must be given before the filming or photography takes place. A Media Relations representative must accompany members of the media at all times while they are on hospital grounds.
Release of Patient Information
It is our policy that the confidentiality and privacy of our patients and their families hold the highest precedence. In accordance with HIPAA, information about the condition of an inpatient, outpatient or emergency department patient may be released only if the inquiry specifically contains the patient’s name. A patient, or the person authorized to give consent, can opt out of providing information altogether.
For an explanation of the terms used to describe patient conditions and injuries, and for the rules that govern release of this information, please refer to the Washington State Hospital Association Guide for Cooperation (PDF).
