Evergreen Healthcare’s Strategic Plan guides the direction of the organization through 2008. It was approved in July 2005 by the Board of Commissioners, following a year-long process that involved more than 200 people - physicians, operational and clinical staff, and members of the community.
The process began with a thorough assessment of the community’s health needs, which showed that cancer, heart disease and stroke are the three leading causes of death in our service area. It also showed that while our population continues to grow, it is also aging. This tells us there will be a greater need in the years ahead for programs and services relating to senior health and chronic disease issues. So in addition to continuing the outstanding care we already provide, Evergreen will be developing centers of excellence to address the community’s needs in these areas.
Evergreen will also be making a greater effort to increase wellness in the community through disease prevention, health education, vaccinations and screenings to detect disease in its earliest, most treatable stages. And, as always, we will advocate for access to care for those in our area who are underserved and uninsured.
