Since opening in 1972, Evergreen Hospital Medical Center has provided for the surgical needs of Eastside residents with highly skilled staff, advanced surgical procedures and compassion.
Board certified surgeons, anesthesiologists and specially trained surgical nurses work together as a team to provide unsurpassed surgical care utilizing the most leading-edge technologies. Evergreen Hospital Medical Center has 11 operating rooms, including three dedicated operating suites for cesarean births. A comfortable waiting lounge enables family members to stay close during surgery, and rejoin the patient enroute to their room following surgery and recovery.
Evergreen was one of the first Puget Sound area hospitals to equip its surgical suites with the advanced Bispectral Index monitoring system for anesthesia, which tailors anesthesia to the specific needs of the patient based on their particular needs. This ensures that patients achieve a deep sleep during surgery, but are able to awaken and recover sooner after surgery. Our anesthesiologists are all Board certified MDs and fully trained to handle any type of anesthesia such as trauma, obstetrics, neurosurgery, cardiac, pediatrics and orthopedics among others.
Surgical inpatients recuperate in either the Specialty Surgical Unit located on the 5th floor Blue or the Medical Surgical Unit located on the 3rd floor Green or Purple areas of Evergreen Hospital Medical Center. Both nursing units provide the same family-centered care that has long been Evergreen’s hallmark with maternity patients.
