What is the time commitment?
We ask that volunteers sign a one year contract. Working with your schedule, we ask for a two-to-four hour per week time commitment.
What type of training do you provide for new volunteers?
We offer a comprehensive training that includes hospice history and philosophy. We explore pain and symptom management, spiritual care, ethical issues, family systems, diversity, listening skills, and loss and grief. How often do you offer volunteer training?
We offer trainings throughout the year.
Is there a registration fee for the training?
There is a $40 registration fee. This offsets the cost of supplies and guest speakers.
Do you offer ongoing support for your volunteers?
Yes, we offer regular support meetings as well as educational in-services.
Are there other requirements I should know about?
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
- Volunteers must past a background check.
