Hospice care isn’t about giving up…it’s about providing hope to people facing a life-limiting illness – hope of living their lives free from pain, without fear and in the comforting circle of family and friends. With the help of our volunteers, Evergreen Hospice provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support as well as companionship to individuals living with a terminal illness and their families.
The most valuable skill a volunteer can have is the ability to be a compassionate presence. They increase the quality of life by offering comfort care and companionship to patients and respite and emotional support to the family system.
Care is provided in patient’s private homes, retirement homes, adult family homes, skilled nursing facilities and the hospice in-patient center located in Kirkland. Evergreen Hospice serves both King and Snohomish Counties.
