Research study name: LCIG (levodopa-carbidopa intestinal gel)
Purpose
This research study evaluates the safety and effectiveness of delivering an investigational study medication through a new delivery route directly into the digestive system.
Who can participate in the search study?
• Male or female aged 30 years or older
• Must have advanced Parkinson’s disease with wearing off of PD medications
• Participants must be able to keep a diary of “off” time
• Participants have had optimal treatment with available PD medications that are not providing optimal treatment of the PD symptoms.
What would I have to do?
The study requires a short stay in the hospital to carefully evaluate whether the new method is beneficial for the patient. If the method is effective and tolerated, a small tube is placed into the stomach with an extension tube into the small intestine for continuous delivery of the study medication for up to 12 months.
What can I expect while participating in this study?
• You will receive close medical follow-up from physicians who have an expertise in Parkinson’s disease at no cost to you.
• Physical and Neurological exams
• Laboratory assessment
• Evaluations to assess your mental and physical symptoms of PD and ability to perform daily activities.

Who can participate in this research study?
Volunteers who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD) for more than 3 years, that are above the age of 30. Participants must be also taking Carbidopa/Levodopa and have approximately 2.5 hours of “off” time per day.
What would I have to do?
