Our Pre-surgical Evaluation offers a full evaluation to determine if DBS surgery is a reasonable next step in your treatment. This includes neurological and neuropsychological examination, and possibly an evaluation by our physical therapist. We provide a detailed surgery overview, review the goals and limitations of surgery, discuss long-term care requirements and review in detail safety while living with an implanted device.
We collaborate with two DBS surgical centers in Seattle, the University of Washington and Seattle Neurosciences, as well as selected centers across the United States. If surgery appears to be a next step in your treatment, we can start the referral process to the surgical center.
If surgery is not appropriate or too risky, we can make medication recommendations if indicated.
