PROFILE
Eastside Maternal Fetal Medicine’s (MFM) outpatient clinic at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center provides perinatal care for high-risk pregnancy and pregnancy complications.
UNIT FOCUS
Eastside Maternal Fetal Medicine provides comprehensive prenatal diagnosis, level II-III pregnancy ultrasound, certified first trimester screening (nuchal translucency), perinatal medical consultation, antepartum testing, genetic counseling, and fetal therapy. The MFM clinic features specialized pregnancy programs including Diabetes, Multiples, Hypertension and Fetal Therapy. Our Fetal Therapy program is one of the few in the U.S. that offers fetoscopic laser ablation therapy for Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome.
PATIENT CARE DELIVERY MODEL
Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, the MFM team works collaboratively with referring physicians regarding specialized care needs for patients. We also care for private patients with more complicated pregnancy and health needs. Patient education is encouraged and promoted.
TEAM MEMBERS
MFM physicians are board eligible/board certified perinatologists – obstetrician gynecologists specializing in pregnancy complications and obstetrical ultrasound. MFM team members include ARNP, genetic counselors, perinatal ultrasonographers, specialized RN’s, certified medical assistants, certified RN diabetic educators, and administrative support staff.
SCHEDULING PRACTICES
Maternal Fetal Medicine is open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday for all services including inpatient coverage. After hours, weekends, and holidays are covered by on-call ARNP and perinatologist. We are flexible with scheduling in order to accommodate personal and educational needs.
STAFF ORIENTATION
New hires participate in a unit orientation program.
EDUCATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Monthly Maternal Fetal Medicine sponsored in-services are held for clinic, hospital and medical staff. Participation in optional continuing education opportunities is strongly encouraged and supported.
